About the JDF

75% of all adults have experienced foot pain. If you’re one of those 3 out of 4 people, you understand that when your feet hurt, everything hurts. People with financial resources can go to a podiatrist, receive treatment, and much-needed relief. Most of the people who don’t have insurance or financial means suffer from foot pain with no hope of relief.

Our foot health parallels our general health. The JDF was established in 2016 to help reduce foot pain in underserved communities and help everyone enjoy a better quality of life. In 2019, through our retail partnerships, we began providing a wide variety of family and household goods to families in need to help improve the lifestyles of the underserved. We understand financial stress prevents families from maintaining a healthy diet and purchasing quality shoes. The socks, clothes, school supplies, beds/bedding, kitchenware, bathroom goods, seasonal goods, toys, bicycles, yard goods, and household goods help relieve some of that financial burden and improves the quality of life for those in need.

“Every hundred feet the world changes.” Chilean author and world traveler, Roberto Bolano saw changes occur every hundred feet. The volunteers at The JDF believe we can change the world by helping to ‘shoe and heal’ hundreds and hundreds of feet. We love giving away shoes, foot care supplies, educational materials, and goods to those in need. We are working to help get podiatric care in communities that need assistance.  We’re looking for partners who also want to help others live healthier life today.

The JDF guiding principles and values apply to our organization and the people we work with. The JDF was formed to serve others. We will treat everyone, regardless of race, creed, financial status, physical or mental disabilities with respect and integrity. By providing services and education to them we empower them to live healthier lives. In treating one another and everyone we encounter with these values, we will grow individually and as an organization.
Our organizations’ team members will act with integrity, have respect for one another and their ideas as we strive to serve the greater good of the organization. Our team members are empowered to think creatively and forward-moving so our organization can grow in a healthy manner.

The JDF continues looking for partners and volunteers to support our cause. Please email us at thejdf@jdffeet.org and learn more about our projects and the opportunities that are available. Empowering others and serving is the gift that keeps giving.
