JDF: MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Celebrating 10 Years of Service!

Founded in 2016, our multi-award winning nonprofit has provided shoes, socks, and goods to improve the lives of the underserved throughout our hometown, DC, MD and VA, six additional states, and two countries.

                        Between sponsoring Health Fairs we...

2016-2020: Collected and recycled shoes, clothes and new socks, distributing them to the underserved.

2020-2024: Distributed new shoes, socks, clothes, and goods to families in need.

2024-present: Sponsor youth chess tournaments and shoe/sock giveaways.

Special Thanks to the Wawa Foundation for its ongoing support.

Through grants and donations from people like you, we help improve the lives of people in need.

Education

Knowledge is Power

Educating people on how they can improve their foot health is a top priority for JDF. In addition to providing free shoes, we strive to provide foot health information our customers can benefit from immediately.

Health

Promoting Well-Being

When our feet hurt, everything hurts! JDF strives to ensure that people in need have shoes that fit properly and new clean dry socks.

Support

Empowering Lives

In 2024, JDF expanded our mission to help improve youth mental health. Our bi-annual Robert E. Jenkins Scholastic Chess Tournaments encourage kids to learn strategic decision making skills they can use throughout their lives.
