Remote Area Medical, RAM Wise County
One of our greatest joys this summer was participating in the largest medical outreach program in the USA. Wise County, Virginia hosts the annual Remote Area Medical, RAM. Hundreds of medical officials volunteer to provide free medical care to Wise County residents over a three-day period. No podiatry care had ever been provided at RAM because the sponsor, Health Wagon, couldn’t find a podiatrist to volunteer their service. We began recruiting podiatrists for RAM in 2016 and in May we successfully signed up volunteers. This year, Dr. Claudia Sands, DPM, provided medical care for foot care patients at RAM!
